The farm has excellent soil quality. At the moment the use we have indicated is for cattle and dual-use teak. Our project began in 2009 and so far we have planted 18,500 Teca trees. We planted 5000 seedlings per year, i.e. 3 to 6 years old.
The area is very suitable for timber plantations and livestock farming. Near us is one of RACSA's plantations, and now our neighbor at the front is an Austrian company called TEAK HOLZ, which grows and invests in teak worldwide. They invested a lot of money and a lot of workers and turned the Teca cattle farm into 100 %. Our estate has the same potential, but we do not have the capital for such an investment. Our project was an effort and is only intended for someone who has the ability to take it to the next level.
Operating data:
I am attaching two documents: the survey and a map from Precious Woods of Costa Rica from 2009, the first year we started growing teak. The map has not been updated, but zones 3, 6 and 7 are now planted with teak. A total of 18,500 trees were planted. Since 2009 we have planted 5,000 per year. Precious Woods assisted us with the initial planning, and we maintained the trees with a full-time staff member and additional seasonal help as needed. The survey is old, the correct survey of the farm was done using GPS and is 73 hectares. It is a separate entity of an LLC and all tax payments are up to date and the farm is free and clear and the only asset in this LLC, which can mean tax savings and make the transfer a simple process.
The farm has electricity right at the gate and 5 natural springs that provide the small workers' house with fresh, clean water and internal water for the livestock. There is a corral and a pole barn. The farm is located 8 miles from the center of Las Juntas or 6 miles from the entrance to the “AMISTAD BRIDGE” located on the Pan-American Highway. So there are two ways to reach the farm. There are also internal roads and the areas not yet planted with teak are used for livestock breeding. The land in this area is rich and productive. Our neighbor directly across the street is TEAK HOLZ International, an Austrian company that has invested in teak worldwide and has planted over 100 hectares of teak there.
