It is a beautiful property of 16,120 m2.
The property is located on the Nicoya Peninsula in the Guanacaste Province of Costa Rica. This area is known as the “Blue Zone” for the “Pura Vida” lifestyle that contributes to longevity of life. The nearest airport is in the city of Liberia, about an hour's drive away.
The property is located in a valley just 5km from the main road, close to the village of Guastomatal and just 20km from the larger town of Nicoya. This area borders a protected national park, so the mountainside offers fantastic views and there is no risk of the view being obscured by development. It is remote enough to provide privacy, but also close enough to towns and beaches to provide convenience and, if desired, all the tourist views.
The nearby beaches are: Playa Samara, Playa Carillo, Playa Tamarindo, Playa Conchal and many others along the coast. Originally designed as a restaurant, it was built in 2011-2012.
The structures consist exclusively of concrete blocks, posts and beams and steel roofs. There is a large spacious open plan rancho style area with an enclosed bar/kitchen area. This area overlooks the large swimming pool with 5 bathrooms and changing rooms. There is a one bedroom apartment above the changing rooms. A terrace overlooks the fish-filled tilapia pond. When it operated as a restaurant, guests would catch their own fish in the pond and then serve it freshly prepared for lunch. It was very popular.
The tilapia pond can hold thousands of fish if someone is interested in breeding them for personal use or for the local market. We have created beautiful botanical gardens everywhere.
The property is surrounded by lush greenery and walkways and the gardens are carefully maintained.
The orchard is in excellent condition and there are hundreds of mature fruit trees such as orange and tangerine trees, lemon trees, banana trees, guanabana (sour fruit trees), mango trees, papaya trees and many other fruit trees - all for an organic, healthy lifestyle.
There is a deep well that provides an unlimited amount of water, which is great for cleaning and filling the pool, and there is a hose irrigation system on the property that helps maintain the orchard. Recently, the village of Guastomatal and surrounding properties (including this one) have been served by a municipal water system.
This is beneficial for a worry-free and maintenance-free water supply to the restaurant/house. There is a gated entrance to the property for privacy and security.
The neighbor is a Canadian (our Yukon friend) who lives part-time in Costa Rica and also has a full-time property manager on her property.
The other neighboring properties in the area are German, Canadian and local owners. Internet is available for the area.
This property has endless potential: it can be maintained and reopened as a restaurant, it can be expanded with cabins in the orchard for a great Airbnb or retreat experience, or it can be easily converted into a private single or multi-family home.
The property is currently wholly owned by myself and my ex-wife as the only two partners in a limited company, so the title is clear and easier to transfer.
We are motivated to sell because we want to separate our final assets. The asking price was $280,000, but we recently lowered it to speed up the sale and it is now offered for $260,000.
