Self-catering farm with house, and bungalows, at Dulce Nombre-San Carlos
The finca is located in the heart of Costa Rica in the province of “San Carlos”.
More than 25 years ago, the finca was purchased by a German emigrant couple and turned into a Garden of Eden with a lot of love and hard work.
In 2011 we took over the property with the commitment to continue operating it according to ecologically sustainable principles. You will find a refuge for nature lovers without having to forego the amenities of stylish living comfort.

The property can be divided into three levels: garden, pasture, pond and streams (with 2 springs), tropical rainforest. The houses were built at a respectful distance from each other. There are two large, well-maintained family houses and a large guest house with two apartments, which was built in 2014. When the sky is clear, there is a beautiful view of the "Volcan Platanar", the river of the same name, the "Rio Platanar", is also an impressive property boundary and wonderful bathing lagoons are in the immediate vicinity.
In 2014, the guest house was built with two apartments with upscale furnishings. Both approximately 50 sqm apartments consist of: living room/bedroom with kitchen, comfortable seating area and bamboo four-poster bed, bathroom, exclusive outdoor shower with a small, spacious garden, terrace area with rocking chairs and hammock. A comfortable laundry room and a beautiful barbecue area are available for shared use .
Volcano, waterfalls, Caribbean coasts – everything is accessible.
The impressive Arenal volcano is within sight. Also nearby and a recommendation from us is the “La Fortuna” waterfall and the “Bio Thermales” hot springs. The sky-blue “Rio Celeste” is extremely worth seeing and just a day trip away. The Pacific and Caribbean coasts can be reached in just a few hours.
